My name is Angelique, I’m an Aussie currently living in London with my husband and 9 month old son.
I’m a software engineer specialising in publishing systems for newsrooms, and I’ve worked at the heart of leading news publishers for over 10 years. I was an art director for several years with the Australian Financial Review in Sydney, and I decided to move to London 8 years ago to take up a role as a software engineer with the Financial Times.
I was completely new to the technology industry and I was surprised at the lack of women in the industry. I became passionate about diversity and encouraging more women into STEM areas, so I founded FT Women UK at the Financial Times in June 2017 and currently chair the group. Before that I founded and co-chaired Women in Learning and Leadership UK at Pearson in November 2014.
